Rent a Car or Scooter
Brač is a large island with stunning hidden spots, so the best way to explore at your own pace is by renting a car or scooter. Roads are well-maintained, and driving allows you to reach off-the-beaten-path gems like Vidova Gora (the highest peak in the Adriatic) and the stunning Blaca Monastery, tucked away in the cliffs.
Car Rental: Available in Supetar, Bol, and other main towns. Book in advance during peak summer.
Scooter Rental: A great alternative for solo traveller’s or couples who want to zip between beaches and villages without worrying about parking.
2. Water Taxis & Ferries for Coastal Hopping
If you’re staying in Bol or Supetar, consider using water taxis to visit nearby beaches (like Zlatni Rat) or nearby islands such as Hvar. You can also take the Jadrolinija ferry from Supetar to Split if you want a quick city escape.
3. E-Bikes or Mountain Bikes for Active Travellers
Brač has excellent cycling routes, including scenic coastal paths and hilly inland roads. Renting an electric bike (e-bike) makes it easier to tackle the island’s rugged terrain while enjoying breathtaking views.
4. Public Buses for Budget Travellers
Buses run between major towns like Supetar, Bol, Milna, and Sumartin, making it a cheap way to get around. However, schedules can be infrequent, so check ahead and plan accordingly.
