Bali Bagus 🌺

Hey, Hi and Welcome to Bali!

And to a misty rainy season…

It’s week one of a Gower’s on Tour adventure to Bali, Indonesia in the hopes of escaping the Christmas chaos back in Aus.

Can confirm, the traffic is just as bad as they warn you.. After a head jerking 2 hour and 8km taxi to the villa, we are ready to chill the fk out.

DAY ONE:

  • Scouting all of the very best gyms, Pilates studios and wellness centers the area has to offer.

  • Getting drenched on a moped after being caught out in the rain many a times.

  • Perusing the boutiques of Canggu (my faves: Bahhgoose & Balm Wears)

  • Lounging by the pool when the sun decided to make an apperance, drinking my new favourite hard selzer (Everyday Weekend)

  • Delivery of Nasi Goreng for late night snack

DAY TWO:

  • Early wake to get to the 6.15am Rise and Run

  • HWAT & SWHEATY run to the oval, which proceeded with 30 minuets of sprints, before the 1.5km run back to the start point

  • Signed up to The Body Factory to get our fix of Pump and Purify

  • Our first HYROX group session with the family - tough but good. HWAT X2

  • Spent the rest of the afternoon getting cooked under the sun by the pool

  • Evening of sunsets and cocktails at the Lawn Canggu

DAY THREE:

  • 7am Vinyasa Yoga @ The Body Factory, followed by a very sweaty boxing session and I am not exaserggerating when I say I think I sweated my entire bodyweight in 45 minutes. The trainer - Vincent - was so great and guided me through all the steps and combos to leave me feeling empowered and s t r o n g.

  • Fulled up on the best protein smoothie I have ever had in my life, courtesy of the Body Factory (cookies and cream bby)

  • An afternoon venture down to Canggu beach to catch some fresh sea air

  • Before the Gower Girls hit the town! We started with a refreshing spritz at Muda by Suka (great atmosphere and friendly staff), followed by a pit stop at Penny Lane for some dinner before wondering up to one of our fav fine dining and bars - Santanera - where we got friendly with the generously kind bar staff and shared a cheeky shot over the counter 🤪🍸.

DAY 4:

  • Hold your horse, because well, whilst we were out enjoying ladies night last night, it seems the other half of the Gower gang, were busy getting themselves an healthy dose of Bali belly. Great start to the day.

  • Whilst the boy’s were left recovering, Mumma G and I braved the excessively heavy rain in search of a comforting coffee and pastry.
    stop 1: Little Engine Coffee
    stop2: Crate Cafe

DAY 5:

  • Feeling pretty sore after a few days pumping iron so Mum and I started the day with some mobility and attached the dreaded stair-climber before wondering down to our new favourite patisserie…

  • Fold. We were instantly in LOVE! I don’t joke when I say the croissants were built to perfection with such crispiness and flavour. These mouthwatering pastries, will definitely satisfy your cravings alsongiside refreshing fresh juices, coffee, tea, matcha, and homemade gelato.

  • For dinner, we ventured to The Barn Gastropub to secure ourselves a British Sunday Roast. Tucked away in a side street by the famous Old Mans beach bar, The Barn is a real gastropub with live sports, bar games, live music, and daily events. Upstairs they have a sophisticated speakeasy-style cocktail bar where DJs spin classic house and soul music.
